Yeah, that is a bit creepy. I have to admit I have 2 animal skulls (vole and bird of some sort) and a whole load of feathers but it's things that I've found and I think they're interesting. I wouldn't buy and animal that had been specifically killed just to be sold, how can anyone that does that say thy care for the animal?

I own a rabbit fur that I've kept in my locker this school year. XD I'm not sure if I'm one of those people since I have no intention at all at making a fur suit (sure its warm, but isnt wearing multiple articles of clothing better?). My mother bought a real stuffed crocodile from the flea market once, however, I wouldnt let her keep it for it kept freaking me out every time I passed it. O_o It probably was those deep eyes that wouldn't let me pass. I guess what I'm trying to say is I am neutral. XD

yeah but one thing it to treat them well... to use them for study or something, and showing some respect to the life..

but those guys play with death animals and show their photos like "hey look it's so kawaii i have real fur in my room i called him bob i made it into a toy for kids!!11!!1 t___t"

i live near a lake and we have a lot of beautiful swans, i've found a lot feathers and they are so pretty <3 and i didn't had to find a readkill bird to get it XD

Yeah, it's weird when people use fur for fashion and toys. I don't like that. Fur's not fluffy enough for toys, anyhow.

One shouldn't condone all taxidermy though, as a lot of it is very handsome. A good taxidermist aims to make the animal as alive as possible. At my local fishing-and-hunting supply shop there's some absolutely stunning pieces, including a shoulder-mount of a pronghorn that is 100% flawless- and I don't like most shoulder mounts.

I don't own any taxidermy as it's pricey. I did make my coyote skull into a temporary sculpture- rocked the jaw back to hold it open and wound a pocketwatch chain around the muzzle like a tongue, and put the watch in the eye-socket. It's all just resting there, and it suits it somehow.
A few of mine have also had hats put on them, but only if they look good.

Yeah, I have a big swan feather. I have some really pretty little ones too, found most of them around bird feeders. I'm good at telling what they're from too =3 We got that passage in english 2 years ago about geese and it says they plucked them alive and waited until the feathers grew back and then plucked them again. I think I was the only person that felt a bit sick at that, it must hurt. Like getting your hair pulled out

beh, non mi disturba semplicemente avere un pezzo di tassidermia, ma sì, quando lo tratta come qualcosa... kawaii, io penso che sia stupido e mi darebbe molta noia XD

o qualcuno che appende una testa di cervo... ma andare di caccia semplicemente per il "sport", non per ottenere cibo o regolare la popolazione, ma solo per uccidere un animale, mi fa arrabbiare. Come i poveri lupi in Alaska, non c'è nessuna ragione per ucciderli, neanche è un graniero cercando de proteggere il suo bestiame. ): ma questo è un altro rant XD

penso anche che sia di cattivo gusto avere animali nella tua casa solo per decorazione, eww.

mi piacerebbe avere invece gli ossi per studiare, comunque. :>
